You’re Not Having a Crisis. It's Just Your Cycle.

A Smarter Way to Understand Career Transitions,

Identity Shifts, and Partnership Alignment

We’ve all heard these labels and language but do you know the scientific origin behind them?

The “7-year itch.” "The midlife crisis." That sudden urge to change everything... your job, your relationship, your address, your friend group or even how you see and identify yourself. These moments tend to arrive unexpectedly and uninvited, and when they do, most people assume something has gone wrong.

Maybe you’ve outgrown your role but can’t explain why. Maybe its a relationship that once made sense now feels heavy or misaligned. Or maybe you’ve built a life that looks successful on paper, yet internally, something feels incomplete.

In professional spaces, this often shows up as burnout, disengagement, or a desire for a career change. In personal spaces, it can look like emotional distance, restlessness, or the quiet realization that the friendship or relationship is no longer sustainable.

Hear me out... what if none of that is failure? What if these moments aren’t breakdowns at all, but predictable cycles of personal and professional realignment?

The Pattern You’ve Been Living (Without Realizing It)

If you look back over your life, you may begin to notice a rhythm. Every several years, something shifts. Not always dramatically, but consistently enough to leave a pattern that is difficult to ignore once you see it.

Around certain ages, you may have experienced changes in direction, identity, or tolerance. Things that once felt aligned begin to feel restrictive. Roles that once fit perfectly begin to feel performative.

These moments often include:

  • A growing discomfort with your current role or environment

  • A desire for more meaningful or aligned work

  • Increased awareness of what no longer fits

  • A sense that you are ready for something different, even if you cannot yet name it

Most people explain these moments away or internalize them as personal shortcomings. But what you are experiencing is not random. It is cyclical.

Understanding your 7-Year Rhythm of Change

In astrology, the planet Uranus is associated with disruption, innovation, and truth. It moves slowly, spending approximately seven years in each sign, and its movement correlates with noticeable periods of change in our lives.

When you map that rhythm onto your lived experience, a timeline begins to emerge that aligns with many of the transitions people experience in both personal life and professional career.

Common activation points often occur around:

  • Ages 7–8: Early independence, questioning authority, awareness of difference

  • Ages 14–15: Identity exploration, emotional shifts, testing boundaries

  • Ages 21–22: Major life direction decisions, education or career pivots

  • Ages 28–30: Reassessment of career path, relationships, and long-term stability

  • Ages 35–37: Renewed desire for alignment, meaning, and authenticity

These are often described as growth phases. Informally, people call it the “7-year itch.” But what you are actually experiencing is a recurring cycle of evolution—one that invites you to update and realign your life as you grow.

The Midlife Reset: A Leadership and Identity Checkpoint

Between approximately ages 40–44, this cycle reaches a peak known as the Uranus opposition. This is one of the most significant periods of transformation in adulthood and often coincides with major career transitions, leadership shifts, and relationship reevaluations. This is the phase most commonly labeled as a midlife crisis. However, when viewed through a more informed lens, it becomes clear that this is not a breakdown. It is a recalibration. At this stage, life presents a direct question:

Does the life, career or connections you’ve built thus far still align with who you are now and who you are becoming?

If the answer is no, the pressure to change becomes difficult to ignore. This can show up as a desire to leave a job, redefine your leadership style, restructure a relationship, or pursue a path that feels more authentic. What feels like instability is often misalignment bubbling to the surface and energetically requiring recalibration.

Astrology Is Already in the Systems You Trust

Here is the part most people don't aren't comfortable saying out loud, so I'll hold your hand when I say this: The frameworks we rely on for personal and professional development are not as disconnected from astrology as we have been led to believe. Many personality and leadership assessments are built on archetypal patterns that mirror astrological principles. The language has been modernized for enterprising environments, but the structure remains. Even the way we measure time reflects this influence:

  • The months of the year are named from ancient systems tied to celestial cycles

  • The days of the week are derived from planetary archetypes

  • The concept of cyclical development itself is rooted in observing patterns over time

In other words, you have already been engaging with these systems. They have simply been presented to you under different names. We live in a time where artificial intelligence is used to enhance productivity and decision-making. There is no resistance to using external systems to gain insight. The opportunity now is to also engage your actual intelligence—your internal pattern recognition, your energetic blueprint, and your natural way of navigating the world.

A More Strategic Way to Navigate Change

Most people only recognize these patterns in hindsight. They look back and try to make sense of what happened after the fact. But when you understand your personal design and timing, you gain the ability to move differently. You begin to:

  • Recognize when a cycle of change is beginning

  • Understand what is being asked of you in that phase

  • Make decisions with clarity instead of reacting under pressure

  • Align your life, leadership, and relationships with how you are actually designed to operate

Hear me clear, I'm not talking about prediction. This is all about orientation.

You’re Not Broken. You’re Becoming.

If you are currently navigating a period of uncertainty, transition, or dissatisfaction, it is worth considering that you may not be off track. You may be in a cycle that is asking you to evolve.

What feels like instability is often the beginning of alignment, so yes, growth is uncomfortable.

You do not need to fix yourself. You need to understand your patterns.

Because once you do, you stop asking, “What’s wrong with me?” and begin asking:

What is this moment asking me to become?
