Imagine the chaos that would ensue if a queen bee began behaving like a drone bee or if a drone bee decided they wanted to pursue worker bee tasks. This energy of being busy in the moment focused on what you need to be doing to contribute to the greater good of the team as yourself is remarkably evidenced by studying the society of ants and bees. They are all living and thriving as they were individually designed to contribute to their colonies. This is the talent to lead with integrity and be present in the moment.

As a professional, you become self-assured when you learn to let go second guessing yourself and just be present in the moment knowing that you make trustworthy decisions based on how you were designed to thrive. In this state, you have the ability to distinguish between what is essential or not and your integrity is self-evident in your actions and expressions in every situation at the office.
You have the potential to become the backbone of the team, knowing when to act and when to wait without being distracted by external influences, including other people's opinions. Through your neutral and natural observation, you help others become aware of their own integrity and support them and bringing their best selves to work and the best abilities to the table. Because you can lead without influencing others, you can foster a work climate of trust where everyone has the freedom to exist as themselves and take responsibility for themselves.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Your potential for creativity and problem solving is strongest when you take the time to reflect and don't try to force things, be present in the now. Also, if you feel that the moment isn't right for you to change or improve something, you may experience a melancholic mood. Here are six steps to embodying and levering this energy of being self-assured:
STAGE 1- SIMPLICITY: It is essential that you start by taking in and appreciating the panoramic view of life in the moment and contemplating the bigger picture of your career. Know that your inner fortitude is there waiting to spring into action in due time. Even though it may not appear to others that you are paying attention or are in a state of readiness, what they don't know is that you stay ready so that you don't have to get ready.

STAGE 2- VIEWPOINT: Be purposeful in taking in the fullness of the present moment. Take off the blinders so you won't develop tunnel vision that skews your viewpoint and not show the complete truth in the now. Here, your teammates may assume that you naturally know the best path forward for the project or company to survive.
STAGE 3- SELF-AWARENESS: Develop the ability to objectively watch your thoughts and actions as self-awareness lends itself to self-assuredness. This gives you the ability to calibrate how your actions impact the trajectory of your career and your ever evolving self-expression and leadership. Careful not to become self-conscious as that acts as an stumbling block, preventing you from being your authentic self where you might sacrifice your individuality to fit in.
STAGE 4- OBSERVING: At this stage you begin to see that the best way to participate on a well-aligned team is to be single-minded and focus on what matters to you. Lead with what resonates with your integrity. This is how you leverage self-assuredness to influence others to learn from your subject matter expertise and go be great themselves as they grow into great leaders.
STAGE 5- MEDITATING: This is about watching your deepest thoughts and feelings realistically. At this stage you may find yourself open to hearing the company's comments about your career and contributions and you receive them from a place of inner clarity and with presence. If you are not clear and centered, you may find yourself using distractions to divert from the present moment.
STAGE 6- REFLECTING: Finally there is the potential to become wise and consider agendas that benefit everyone as your detached presence amasses realistic knowledge that is available for the entire team to use. You'll find yourself willing to communicate all kinds of knowledge whether its useful right now or not.
