A vital component to being a successful resource manager is having your authority aligned with authentically with what best for you and the team and to not be influenced or bought by external pressures. The team depends on you to bring order, hunt for the necessary resources and ensure that every employee has what they need. Your leadership style is by example and involves empowering and trusting others to leverage the team's collective strengths and resources.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

The drive for control can potentially become overbearing leading you to be inflexible landing you in the midst of conflict and stress. It is important not to try to force your control or responsibility against the will of others. Instead, you should patiently wait for the responsibility to be handed over to you, allowing you to exert your influence in line with the vision and needs of the organization. When you use your resource management skills at the right time, when the organization is ready to accept your input, you will succeed.
