Trait 47: Realization - Professional Development Key of the Week

Updated: Nov 5, 2024

This skill is the ability to fill in the blanks between where things are and where they could be. With this trait, you have the potential to be a transformational change agent due to your abstract thinking. You think outside of the logical box and don't rely on solving problems in a linear fashion the way society has taught us. Don't waste energy trying to resolve the past nor fix the present, your gift to your team is the conception of new and better ways of resolute operations. Your abstract thinking flows best when it is not confined to a block of time such as brainstorming meetings. Trying to overanalyze and respond to on-demand pressure to produce a remedy will likely only produce anxiety as you won't be in a relaxed state of mind.

“You cannot solve your problem with the same mind that created it.” Albert Einstein

This is the energy of the fixed mindset versus the growth mindset. The healthy and helpful way to use this trait is to organize data in an abstract fashion with an open mind. This way, you can interpret the possibilities and realizations that present themselves and share them with your team as the beginning of a new idea/ideal. Like a film editor, you can sort through all of the data and information, like filtering and condensing the reels of a video to create a cohesive strategic plan using your experiential cognitive thought process. If you can override rigid thoughts, a fixed mindset, your gift is being able to tackle challenges non-logically which opens up limitless possibilities to help you find a better solution or innovation for you and your team with a growth mindset.

The 47 is a natural born problem solver whose mind categorizes data to make sense of the bigger picture making you an excellent consultant. You can sense which policies, processes and procedures are worth investing in and which ones won't support your organization’s mission and vision for the future. In this trait your strength lies in your ability to be certain about the diversity of your thoughts while remaining open to fresh interpretations and perceptions as you process new data points. If you use this energy trait while your self-awareness or self-esteem is low (non-creative spaces), you'll find it difficult to fathom hopeful outcomes as you're stuck in outdated perspectives. You may even project this self-oppression onto others and try to mentally oppress them with personal beliefs about scientific or religious dogma if you’re threatened by their open mindedness.

This trait complements last week’s Professional Key: Trait 64. The 64 is about the skill of being able to turn confusion into imagination and this 47th trait is about interpreting the past, organizing what's been imagined for the future and transmuting it into that special eureka moment, or satori. The 64 asks “how?” and the 47 answers.

Satori Synergy is where the Art of Self-Actualization meets the Science of Differentiation. Each week we highlight a Diversity Key Trait to help bring self-awareness to your professional communication style and leadership skills. There are 64 diverse energy traits (your strengths) that align with the 64 DNA codons… very cool, I know! I try not to get too nerdy here, but with my lifelong fascination with social dynamics, I do enjoy exploring the synergy between the biology and sociology in a practical way to provide you with specific strategies where you can leverage and capitalize on your strengths and weaknesses. Spoiler alert... they are one in the same.
